Ask visitors for their name and email
Turn contact collection on or off.
Follow these steps

In Settings → Widget, switch on Ask for name and/or Ask for email.

Visitors are asked before their first message. Details are saved to the conversation. An email creates or links a contact in Contacts.
Good to know
Choose a sensible request
Ask for a name if a personal greeting helps; ask for an email when you need to follow up after the visitor leaves. Avoid requesting unnecessary personal information.
Where details appear
A visitor's submitted details are attached to the conversation. Contacts are created from visitors who provide an email; not every anonymous visit becomes a contact.
