Live chat for your Shopify store
HTchat works on Shopify through your theme, not an app install: one snippet in theme.liquid adds the chat widget to every page of your store, including product and cart pages.
Why add it through the theme
A theme snippet is quick to add and easy to remove. It loads asynchronously, so it doesn't slow down your storefront, and it renders in its own layer so your theme's styles stay untouched.
Useful for Shopify stores
Shopify-specific questions tend to be about stock, variants and delivery. Seeing the product URL in the chat means you can check the variant they mean without asking.
Add HTchat to Shopify
- 01In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- 02Click … → Edit code and open layout/theme.liquid.
- 03Paste your HTchat snippet just before the closing body tag and save.
- 04Open your store in a new tab; the chat button appears bottom right.
Common questions
- Is there a Shopify app?
- Not yet. The theme snippet is the supported installation method today.
- Will it survive a theme change?
- If you switch themes, paste the snippet into the new theme's theme.liquid too.
